Redirect

Redirect is a simple plugin for WordPress that allows you to redirect pages and posts to other URLs using Custom Fields. This plugin can really come in handy if you have a lot of traffic to a specific page and need to change the URL without sending tons of users to a 404 error page. Simply add the ‘redirect’ field to your entry with the new address as the value, and once Redirect is activated it will send everyone to the new page!

Hiya. Looks like your plugin doesn’t always play well with Permalinks.

After I changed the Permalinks setup from the default, with your plugin installed (but not set actually to do any redirection), I found all requests to my blog’s homepage were suddenly being redirected to a random post.

You might want to look into that, as it took me a while (and several panicky posts to a Wordpress.org forum) before I tried disabling Redirect, and everything was fine again.

Sorry to be the bearer of bad news. Let me know if you need any more information to help you track down the bug.

I’ll take a look into it and work out a fix, sorry for any inconvenience it caused you. What were your permalink settings?

Hi there. Your plugin was the only one I could find that went from posts to pages but it doesn’t work all the time. Sometimes when I click on the posts that should redirect it goes to the right pages, othertimes it doesn’t redirect at all :o (

Hey- Love the idea, but had a problem installing. When trying to activate, I got a fatal error “main…wp-config.php…failed to open stream…no such file or directory in…plugins/redirect/redirect.php on line 16. I am certain the files have been uploaded correctly. Any advice? Thanks in advance!
